The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program and Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas are currently accepting proposals for the 2013 Preservation Conference.
For 2013, the organizations are planning a two-track program: one track focused on Historic Bridges and one track focused on Current Preservation Topics.
The audience for the conference includes City and County Planners, Historic District Commissioners, Preservation Educators, Main Street Communities, Architects, State and Federal Employees, Preservation Advocates, Transportation Engineers, Main Street Directors and Boards, and Public Historians.
Each year the Arkansas Preservation Conference presents high-quality sessions, workshops, and tours that address some of the most important issues facing preservationists in Arkansas and the region. The conference is also designed to highlight the successes and challenges of the host region. In 2013 the conference will be held in North Little Rock; however, for the Historic Bridge Track will address historic bridges throughout the state. The Conference Steering Committee seeks sessions that will be interactive, engage the audience, present fresh approaches, and be easily applicable to participants.
